Hello LMS families,
I landed on campus on July 1st. Every day since has been a day of affirmation that I could not be in a better place. The administrative team has been fantastically supportive, and each of them is an island of competence and professionalism as well as kindness and thoughtfulness.
The faculty and staff returned on Monday, and startup week has been packed with meetings, socializing and preparation. Fantastic educators have been proactively anticipating the arrival of your children and the special year that is ahead of them.
Over the summer, much work took place. In addition to the very noticeable (the gathering circle, the mud kitchens), the facilities team has accomplished much that is not obvious to the casual visitor but so very necessary to the wellbeing and longevity of the campus and the community.
Schools in the summer can be awkward, with empty quiet halls and classrooms. The arrival of the teachers and staff infuses a heartbeat, and we all excitedly await the full life of the school returning with the arrival of your children beginning on Tuesday.
Returning to Massachusetts has had a familiar feel for me, yet much is different. I'm so very excited to be a part of the joyful community that is LMS. Please, introduce yourself to me... often! You'll see me out at arrival every day, and I can't wait to connect with you at the LMS Morning Coffees (on 9/13 for EL/MS parents, and on 9/18 for TD/CH parents).
Here's to a fantastic year. I look forward to seeing everyone as the startup events of the school year begin.
Kevin
