Festival of Lights... throughout the years!

LMS Community

In a couple of weeks LMS children of all ages will gather with faculty and staff for our annual Festival of Lights. Using collected and borrowed artifacts, groups will share traditions from many cultures in which light is used to convey hopes: for the return of sunlight; for uplifted spirits; for miracles; for new life, for safe refuge; for a new year; for appreciation of family, community and culture. We light candles and lanterns, and everyone, toddlers through adults, sing songs together. Mostly, we pause, focus on the lights, and appreciate each other and the community we share.
