Role at LMS:

Co-Director of IT and Yoga Teacher

What year did you start working at LMS?

2013

Where did you grow up?

In NY, first on Long Island and then in Westchester.

What kinds of things do you like to do when you're not at LMS?

I love being a Mom to Violet (LE3 Middle) and Wolf (CH2 Kindergartener). I also love pursuing fitness through running with my dog, lifting, rock climbing, biking and swimming. I try to make some time to play viola and piano and I enjoy reading, especially DEI-aligned books. Especially this time of year, as we get closer to Halloween, I can also be caught binging on horror movies.

How did you find LMS and/or Montessori:

Oddly enough, I applied to teach preschool at LMS fresh out of college when I had little knowledge of the school but a love for Montessori education. As the daughter of two educators, I have a lot of respect for alternative styles of education and the Montessori pedagogy always interested me. However, I was absolutely not credentialed to teach in CH and am not at all surprised I didn't get a call back! I have worked professionally with Apple products since the age of 12 (seriously!) and ended up working directly for Apple. When my Mom was told she would need to start chemo-therapy for Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and Leukemia, I chose to move closer to my parents in Vermont, where they had moved to retire. I grew my career at Small Dog Electronics, where I eventually became Vice President of IT, Development, Consulting and Physical Security. A year after my Mom passed, I met my now-husband, and we both hit ceilings in our careers in Vermont, we began looking at other areas where we could raise a family. LMS was hiring for a Server Administrator. While I wasn't sure if I wanted to move back to MA, once I was invited to come see the campus I completely fell in love. It was meant to be.

What is a dream you want to make come true one day?

I would love to join or start a regional theatre company devoted to DEIJB work.

What's something surprising people might not know about you?

I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist. I ran my own practice for 10 years before having children.
